The folks over at the old forum have been offering (as usual) some poor advice on the facts about the RS530A gearbox found in the Z32 manuals (NA & TT), now although they have stumbled along & corrected themselves it's better to have a non clutter just the facts post so here it is below:
All internal components are exactly the same between NA & TT boxes, in fact all components except the bell housing are the same.
The bell housing is machined to suit the two different flywheels & the relative position of the starter motor.
To run either gearbox with NA or TT diff simply swap the entire speedo sender across, not just the gear as the sender has the shaft offset for the NA unit to accommodate the larger pinion gear.
This has been confirmed via Nissan NZ directly & also from my own personal experience with these units.
This information can be confirmed via various places however be aware of those who post/offer info incorrectly.

To run an NA gearbox on a TT car all you need to do is remove a small amount of material from two spots where the ring gear would touch inside the bellhousing & run a spacer plate for the starter motor.
The TT flywheel and clutch will then bolt in, the loom is the same for the NA & TT gearboxes (manual not auto) so if you have a TT & are just doing a manual conversion with an NA gearbox there are just a couple of things to sort out as per the standard manual conversion regardless of NA or TT box.
If you're not worried about the speedo being optimistic by ~10kph you can leave the NA speedo sender in there otherwise you have to change the whole sender unit for a manual TT unit. DO NOT just swap the gears over as some suggest – it wont work, or it wont work for long anyway.

Auto ECU will work fine with a manual conversion as long as you wire up the neutral switch correctly.
You can modify the wiring loom to suit otherwise Z1 sell a plug in version with instructions for any changes etc

be aware this is for LHD cars so there is a plug for the oil pressure sender & a wire you wont need, other wires and pins etc should all be the same as RHD.
Change rear main seal & the gaskets for the seal holder, if you don't it will leak, if it leaks you have to pull the gearbox out again ![]()
If your O2 sensors are of unknown age replace with brand new OEM, others have been known to give trouble.
Replace all the hoses for the turbos with silicon hoses, although some have been known to seep a little bit they wont perish & fail like the rubber ones do – mind you that takes a fair bit of time for the OEM hoses, if you use cheap aftermarket hose expect problems within five years – you have been warned!.
Get the alternator serviced, replace brushes and bearings and clean, check everything. The mileage is getting up on these types of parts and they ARE failing frequently now.
