Thought it was about time I collated what has been happening over the last little while:
In addition to a Forged/Balanced bottom end, Substantial head porting and 274'/9.3mm lift camshafts.
Well, it goes … note to all don't start em up without the MAP Sensor connected
Sounds very "CAMMY" I wonder if this is due to the engine having much better breathing both in and out, than it did before… either that or there is a vacuum hose of somewhere.
Test drive taken, run nice 8) … steady idle @ 950rpm
As for performance, can't really tell until it's tuned, BUT it feels much quicker than before… revs and makes boost quicker as well… even on part throttle only.
Am looking forward to getting the odds and ends tidied away and having it tuned, my guess is I will need a spare pair of undies in the car at all times
More goodies to fit
1: 4 Bar MAP Sensor… my existing one won't let me go higher than 21psi
2: 3 Port Boost Control Solenoid… The G4 Link ECU uses this to set Boost limits.
3: Crank Trigger Wheel and Sensor… This will replace the factory CAS unit, fitting more powerful valve springs can/does setup harmonics with the CAM Belt causing it to develop a "whip" which in turn has the CAM's turning at varying degrees to the Crank Shaft as evidenced by observing the timing moving all over the place which makes it necessary to run the timing more retarded than is ideal to make good power.
A Crank Trigger Wheel setup like this ensures rock steading timing all the time which means I can run more timing adv. safely = more POWA
